Apparently young Hollywood received a memo this week to darken their locks. Ashlee Simpson unveiled a dark red hue and Miley Cyrus, a.k.a Hannah Montana, debuted a new look at the premiere of "Best of Both Worlds."

The drastic hair color makeover sparked a healthy debate between me and my fellow fill-in on the Dish Rag, Stephanie Lysaght. (Remember, Elizabeth is on celebrity snow patrol at Sundance.)

Steph thought Miley went totally glam, describing her as a "younger, cute version of Megan Fox." I thought she'd aged herself a bit, looking way too hard for a young Disney starlet and more on the goth side. Morticia Addams, anyone?

So what are a guy and gal to do but leave it to the popular vote to decide. (I've got lunch at the Ivy riding on this one, so don't let me down. Well, actually it's a soup and salad combo at the L.A. Times commissary, but the Ivy sounded better, right?)

Lindsay's Days of the Dead

Lindsay Lohan will soon be among the dead.

The 21-year-old actress is slated to report to a morgue for two days as part of a court-ordered program to show DUI offenders the real-life consequences of drinking and driving, her attorney said.

Lohan will also spend two days working in a hospital emergency room as part of the program.

At a progress-report hearing Thursday, Lohan's attorney Blair Berk told the judge the actress was on her way to fulfilling the terms of her plea bargain stemming from two DUI arrests, stating that Lohan had already spent two months in rehab and performed some community service, including work for the Red Cross.

The Mean Girls star also served 84 minutes in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, in November.

Lohan was not present at Thursday's hearing.

Following her dual booze-fueled driving arrests in May and July, the actress pleaded no contest to being under the influence of cocaine, driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.08 percent and reckless driving.

She was sentenced to 36 months of probation, 24 hours in jail, an 18-month alcohol education program and 10 days of community service.

Lohan's next progress report hearing is scheduled for July 15. She is not required to attend.

Meanwhile, Lohan recently caught a break with regard to another legal matter on her docket.

An appellate court ruled last week that her pending deposition about an October 2005 car crash would not be caught on tape—at least for now.

A three-justice panel of the 2nd District Court of Appeal ordered Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern to show why he should not reverse his decision to allow her testimony to be videotaped and set a ...hearing for Mar. 26.

Lohan's attorneys had argued there was a strong potential for the videotaped deposition to fall into the wrong hands, pointing out that the footage of the actress could be worth thousands to certain unscrupulous types.

The deposition was slated to take place on Dec. 3 but has been placed on hold until the videotaping issue is sorted out.

Lindsay Lohan will be working in a morgue as part of her punishment for misdemeanor drunken driving. Lindsay’s lawyer outlined the plans for her current program yesterday, according to the Associated Press:

Her two four-hour days at the morgue are part of a court-ordered program to show drivers the real-life consequences of drinking and driving. She must also spend two days working in a hospital emergency room.

Okay, the morgue I can understand. Those people ....are already dead, so there’s no real sense of urgency. The ER on the other hand, I dunno. I think Lindsay will be more of a distraction: “Quick, get this man 20 cc’s of, uh, breasts. No, wait, that’s not right. 20 cc’s of, uh, round luscious cleavage! Topless Britney Spears Told Police: 'I'm Hot'

Troubled Britney Spears refused to dress for police after ending a crazy bathroom stand-off with her son last week, insisting she was "too hot" for clothes.

The pop star was committed to a Los Angeles hospital after what is being called a breakdown, brought about by her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

And now police sources are speaking out about what took place when they showed up in a bid to prompt an emotional Spears to hand over her child after her visitation term had ended.

Insiders tell TMZ.com Britney spent three hours locked in the master bathroom of her home with her youngest son Jayden James. The website reports that when the pop star did give up to police, she was wearing nothing but panties and refused to put nothing on but a see-through dress.
When police tried to cover her with a sweater, she screamed, "Don't cover me up. I'm f---ing hot," according to the report.....

The source reveals Spears was mostly incoherent, screaming, "What the f---are you doing in my house?" and "I don't need your f---ing help" at the authorities.

The singer's assistant, who was present for the stand-off with police, told officers Spears had been "popping" "vitamins" all day. Officers found a bottle of Prozac in her bedroom, according to TMZ.com.

Her longtime companion, Sam Lutfi, arrived on the scene and told officers he "knew this was coming for a long time," but didn't know how bad it would be. He told the authorities that Spears had been extremely unstable and had recently purchased a house in Malibu, California on a whim, began moving furniture in and then changed her mind.

The police officers are expected to testify about the incident at a custody hearing on Monday.

Porn stars, Penthouse Pets and bikini models

Las Vegas is always an adult playground, or at least that is one of our favorite cliches. Usually, the most visible adult play in Las Vegas is financially compensated. And I don't mean prostitution.
Last night was a great example. First I went to the Evil Angel party at Krave at Planet Hollywood. Evil Angel is one of the biggest distributors of adult movies in the country. The company is owned by adult filmmaker John Stagliano, better known in Vegas for his erotic dance show "Fashionistas."

"Fashionistas" is based on one of Stagliano's adult titles of the same name. In addition to inspiring the Vegas show, that movie became the first of a trilogy of "Fashionistas" films. On Saturday, the final installment of the "Fashionistas" trilogy is up for a series of AVN Awards (the adult version of the Oscars). So, last night, Stagliano brought his two worlds together by hosting a party at Krave, with a sample of his Vegas "Fashionistas" revue on stage and an audience of adult industry veterans (including the stars from the movie) who are in Vegas now for the 40,000-strong Adult Entertainment Expo convention.

Porn stars are amazing to watch work a crowd,..... especially one packed with press photographers like this one. I was talking to one adult actress who was sipping a drink, demurely and shyly, discussing her favorite author, Kurt Vonnegut. The next moment, at the appearance of two photographers, she put on her "sexy face" and started striking totally raunchy poses against a wall. When the photographers departed, she instantly picked up her drink and told me she was of the mind that "Cat's Cradle" definitely gets the nod over "Slaughterhouse-Five."
After leaving Krave, I went over to LAX, where I was told I could hang out with five Penthouse Pets who were partying until the wee small hours of the morning. Again, the Penthouse Pets were not partying in the sense of being out at a nightclub just to enjoy themselves. They were making a promotional appearance on behalf of the new Penthouse Club, a topless bar opening at the end of the week near Mandalay Bay.

Still, an invitation to party in Vegas is not the hardest work in the universe. And all day I had been getting new updates as the original five Penthouse Pets became 15, then 50; and by the time I got to LAX, I was told that the number had swelled to about 100 women associated in some way with Penthouse by being a Pet, modeling in the magazine or working at the new Penthouse Club. No one seemed sure how many actual Penthouse Pets were at LAX. But I had help finding them, as the club's marketing director took me around to meet a few. They were there to work, and that means interviews.

Of course, when I tried to interview the Penthouse Pets, the volume of LAX's music was too loud. Still, from the brief answers I could make out, it was clear that the women were always on message, constantly turning answers into plugs for the Penthouse Club.

Perhaps the thing that made the Penthouse Pets stand out the most to me was not their glamour or beauty but that they were in Penthouse T-shirts. Otherwise, LAX was simply so full of women dressed up in the most stylish club clothes that it was impossible to say for sure which ones were the professional models. This is a scene where 100 Penthouse workers can fit right into the room. On the other hand, I was missing an important part of the puzzle.

As I spoke to the Penthouse Pets, the stairwell inside LAX began to fill with nearly a dozen women in bikinis. Why would so many women be standing in a nightclub on the Strip dressed only in a bikini at a 1 a.m.? Money! It turned out last night was the first part of the Miss LAX talent competition. Talent in Las Vegas means wearing a bikini. And by the time Miss LAX is picked in March, $100,000 in prize money will be given out, including $50,000 for the winner.

Helena Bonham Carter Happy Her Breasts Are Useful

Helena Bonham Carter loves breast feeding her new baby daughter because it gives her boobs a purpose. The 41-year-old actress gave birth to her second child with director Tim Burton in December and she's a big fan of motherhood all over again.

And she can't understand other moms who choose not to breastfeed - because it's "wonderful."

The Sweeney Todd star says, "You know you're providing a real service. After carrying around your boobs for so long, it's nice to know they have an actual purpose."

That said, the Brit is determined not to carry on breastfeeding her new baby daughter for too long after an uncomfortable experience with her four-year-old son Billy.

She adds, "Billy was a bit of a succubus. It gets to a point where you feel awkward. If they can crawl up and reach for it, perhaps it's time to move on."

Longoria, who is married to San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker, says Simpson is taking unnecessary heat from Dallas Cowboys fans who blame the 27-year-old singer's weekend trip to Mexico with her boyfriend, quarterback Tony Romo, for the Cowboys' defeat by the New York Giants.
"People gave me that ... when I started dating Tony," Longoria, star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," said in an interview Monday with E! Entertainment Television's "Daily 10."
"If he had a bad game they'd blame me. If he, uh, you know, had an injury, it's like, 'What did you do to him?'" the 32-year-old actress laughed.
"Believe me, they are not thinking about us when they're on the court, when they're on the field," she said of Parker and Romo. "It's like they've got a little more important things to do."
Longoria, who wed Parker last July, also shot down speculation that she's pregnant.
"I've just gained weight from being on strike," she said, referring to the Hollywood writers strike. "I don't know who sits in a room and makes up stuff; it's really comical sometimes."
Last month, Parker, 25, sued a celebrity gossip Web site for publishing stories that alleged he had an affair with a French model. He's seeking at least $40 million in damages.
"The Internet rumor is the first time we actually sued," Longoria said. "Because it ... went a little too far. And for it being so false and so not true, it was like, 'Wow, really.'"

Playboy Offers Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards $1M to Pose Nude

Good friends Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards are considering a quite big project, posing nude for Playboy. Rumors are abuzz that Playboy magazine has made a $1 million offer for both females to pose nude together in its upcoming issue.

A source told Globe magazine that Playboy boss Hugh Hefner wants the actresses to team up for a spread in its January 2008 issue. Nevertheless, “Neither Pam nor Denise has committed yet, but they’re seriously considering it,” the source was quoted as saying.

Anderson and Richards became good friends while filming the movie “Blonde and Blonder” together. They both have appeared in Playboy before. Pammy has appeared nude in the magazine a record 12 times, while Richards stripped for the December 2004 issue.
